August 2025 Newsletter
In Our Store
- Our annual Pallet of Corn Sale is typically the last weekend in August. Due to the construction of our feed mill, we have decided to move that date to make sure we are ready. Our new date will be Saturday, September 13, 2025. Look in our “IN THE GREAT OUTDOORS” section for more details
- Over the years, we have consistently been asked about taking back Postive Feed Plastic Tubs. Our typical response has been to burn them or drop them off here at the store. We have customers who like to use them for storage and raised gardens. We have a new solution available. Postive Feed is now willing to take back the tubs and lids to their facility and recycle them. Here is how the process works. You bring the lids and tubs back to our store and we will send them back to the manufacturer. Going forward, we will offer this to our customers. Hopefully this is a good program that many of you will benefit from.
- Our Feed Mill is operating in limited capacity until some additional features are hooked up. Please check in the store for the return of our popular feeds we switched during the shutdown.

- It is time to start thinking about the fall brush spraying season. The plants that most people target are Huisache, Rosehedge, and Blackbrush. Here are a few options to spray them and pricing:
- Huisache = $45.29/Acre (1 Quart of Grazon Next/1 Quart Tordon) includes application
- Huisache = $34.46/Acre (1.5 Quarts of Grazon Next) includes application

- It is the time of year to start thinking about fall grazing seeds. We are scheduling shipments of TAM 411 Oats, Nelson Ryegrass, and Gulf Ryegrass. If you have a need for seed, call and get on our list so we can make sure and have some available. We will share the price when we have it available.
In the Animal Pen
- This month we are going to help those who may be feeding a butcher calf or cattle to get them in good shape for the wintertime. We will discount Steakmaker Textured Cattle Feed by $2.00/Bag for the full month. We always sell this as cattle show feed without the pretty bag and the higher price. If you have not tried this, give it a shot.
- Since the forage quality continues to diminish, we are going to continue our sale on the Purina Accuration Hi Fat Tubs. We will continue to discount them by $10.00/Tub.
In the Great Outdoors
- This month we will help those who are keeping your tanks stocked with fish. We are discounting Purina Game Fish Chow by $5.00/Bag for the full month of August. This floating fish food provides 32% protein in a multisize pellet for all sizes and types of fish.
- We will have our annual pallet of corn sale on Saturday, September 13, 2025. We will post the price in the store a few weeks prior to the event and notify everyone on Facebook. We will not allow partial pallets or pick up later. We will only load those customers who are in the door by 12:00 PM. We will not offer any POD’s or orders on hold for that day. You will need to show up and pick up the corn on this day. There will be 40 bags/pallet. We will have a good amount of corn made for that day, but it will be first come, first serve while it lasts. Maximum of 3 pallets per customer.
