November 2025 Newsletter

In Our Store

  • For the last few years, you may have noticed that most retailers have a sign noting that there will be an additional charge for using a credit card. We have decided to make the same change for our business. This will not go into effect until Friday, January 2, 2026. The way to avoid this additional charge is by paying with cash or a check. We hate that this change had to be made, but it really adds up over the course of a year. If you have any questions, please let us know.
  • We have our 2026 Hanging Calendars, Stickem Dash Calendars, along with Farmers Almanacs available in the store. Ask someone at the counter if you would like to get one.
  • On November 13, 2025, we will sponsor The Foundation of Champions Horse Clinic, hosted by Purina. If you would like to learn more about horse nutritional requirements and how to achieve the best saddle fit, please add this to your calendar. For more information, please look in our “What’s coming up in our area” section.
  • November 19, 2025 – November 22, 2025, we will have our annual Purina Checkerboard Days. During this event, we will hold specials on feed, provide Purina Feed Giveaways. Make sure to stop by during this four-day event and check out the deals.
  • It is the time of year that we have a lot of raffle tickets in our store. If you are feeling lucky, stop by and purchase you some.
  • The Dewitt County Office of Texas A&M Agrilife Extension will have its annual CEU event December 2, 2025. Please check the information in the “What’s coming up in our area” section and look for flyers in the store. Even if you do not need the hours, it will provide a lot of information on current issues facing landowners and producers.
  • Please pay attention to the days that we will be closed this month. We will be closed for Veterans Day along with Thanksgiving Day.
  • We missed telling you about planting spring wildflowers in October. If you are interested in planting Bluebonnets $72.00/LB or a Wildflower Mix $42.00/1LB Bag, check what we have available in the store.

In the Yard

  • We have 1015 Onions and Red Onions coming. It will be the end of the month before we see them.
  • We have a variety of fall garden plants available from Bonnie Plants available in the store. Check out what we have available $3.70/4.5” Pot or $4.55/6 Pack.

In the Pasture

  • If you have not completed it yet, GET US YOUR SOIL SAMPLE!!! We are starting to put out Ag Lime. It typically takes 4-6 months for the lime to do its magic, make sure and get on our list.
  • Not many days go by that someone does not ask about Desert Termites and mentions what damage they are doing to customers’ places. These pests create mud tubes around plants and will eat the plant above and below the ground. This will create dead areas in your pastures and hay fields. If you are looking for a solution, consider spraying 3.84 ounces of Lambda Cy Insecticide to an undisturbed pasture. You can also make an application of a liquid Fipronil to the termites. If you have more questions, we recommend you attend the CEU event listed in this newsletter or stop in the store and ask us for guidance. If you need us to make the application for you, please let us know.
  • With the lack of grass and forage, it may still be a good option to plant some fall grass. If you are still looking at seeds, see what we have available below.

Nelson Ryegrass $41.60/50LB Bag            – Gulf Ryegrass $34.65/50LB Bag

Purple Top Turnips $1.85/LB.                        – TAM 411 Oats $25.82/50LB Bag

In the Animal Pen

  • The dry weather really reinforces the need for a loose mineral to be present in our pastures. This month we will have a discount on a few of our cattle minerals. Wind & Rain Red Mineral $3.00/50LB Bag and Gulf Coast Mineral $5.00/50LB Bag.
  • For the Horse Lovers we are discounting Purina Omolene 200 by $3.00/50LB Bag. This high-performance feed is designed with unique nutrient and energy needs. This feed has Amplify Hi Fat Nugget combined with Outlast Gastric Support to help with the stress of competitions or travelling.
