November 2026 Newsletter

In Our Store

This month starts a busy time for our store. With the changes in the weather, we will see increased activity in feed sales and deliveries. Make sure to keep an eye on our calendar and happenings for some great opportunities to stock up and save some money.

  • We will be closed a few days in November for Veterans Day and Thanksgiving. We have also included our Christmas, Inventory Dates, and New Year dates so you can plan ahead.
  • We have our 2027 Hanging Calendars available in the store. We should have the Stickem Dash Calendars soon. Ask someone at the counter if you would like to get one.
  • November 18, 2026 – November 21, 2026, we will have our annual Purina Checkerboard Days. During this event, we will hold specials on feed, provide Purina Feed Giveaways. This year we will have some large Purina Item giveaways including a custom Purina Fire Pit, Purina Chair, and Purina Stool Cooler. Make sure to stop by during this four-day event and check out the deals.
  • The Dewitt County Office of Texas A&M Agrilife Extension will have its annual CEU event December 1, 2026. Please check the information in the “What’s coming up in our area” section and look for flyers in the store. Even if you do not need the hours, it will provide a lot of information on current issues facing landowners and producers.
  • The Purina Feed Plant in Gonzales is having a slow start and is up and going. When they reach full capacity we will see the return of 3/8 Creep, B30 Precon, Cottonseed Cake and DeWitt Cubes. Like many of you we are ready. We appreciate everyone’s patience and understanding through this unplanned shutdown.

In the Yard

Things are starting to change for our yards at this time of year. It is a suitable time to look at getting your yard ready for the spring. Here are a few things to consider doing.

  • Get a soils sample to see what your yard needs in the spring to grow its best.
  • Make your application for pre-emergent herbicide if you missed it in October.
  • Keep an eye out for fungus or Brownpatch in your yard. Consider a variety of treatment options we have in the store. Bayer Bio advanced Fungus Control Granules $25.65/10LB Bag, Bayer Bio advanced Fungus Spray $27.15/ 32oz RTU.
  • Consider an application of Winterizer 10-0-14 to help your yard through the tougher months. $43.00/40LB Bag
  • We have a variety of Fall Garden Plants in stock from Bonnie Plants, and we should have our Onion Sets within the next few weeks. Keep an eye out for their arrival.

In the Pasture

There is still a small window here to spray for Huisache Plants. Reminder that the foliar application needs to be made prior to the ground temperature getting below 72 Degrees. Here is the best recommendation if you have a license (1Qt Grazon Next, 1Qt Tordon, 1Qt Surfactant, Fill the rest of your sprayer to 20 Gallons with water). If you do not have a license (28oz Sendero, 8oz Remedy, 1Qt Surfactant, Fill the rest of your sprayer to 20 Gallons with water). If you are looking for a basal treatment option 4oz Remedy, 124oz Diesel to make a full gallon. If you have more questions about timing or application rates. Please give us a call.

In the Animal Pen

Things are starting to look optimistic for fall forage due to the recent rains. We do have a few options available to help supplement this fresh forage.

  • Purina Accuration Hi Fat Tubs = Last month we shared a discount on our recent shipment. We have decided to continue this discount in the month of November. Come and get them while they are still $100.00/Each.
  • Gulf Coast Mineral = This regionally designed loose mineral is ideal for our area. This month we will discount each bag by $5.00/Bag.
  • Precon ¼ Pellet = During the shortage from the Gonzales Purina Plant closure, our only option was to purchase the unmedicated version. With the Gonzales Plant coming back up, we need to make room for the normal B30 Precon in the store. This month, we will discount each bag by $2.00/Bag. Stop in and get some while we have it.

In the Great Outdoors

We have some great deals throughout the month if you are out and hunting. Consider the options below if you need some variety to draw the deer in.

  • Corn & Roasted Soybeans (40LB Mix) = $17.50/40LB Bag
  • Quick Draw Blocks 20# = $14.75/20LB Block. (We have them available in regular, berry, or apple flavor)
