The current pricing for this month will be $55.00/Each.
  • We will have our Annual Pallet of Corn Sale on Saturday, August 31, 2024. Our goal is to take advantage of the field corn prices to get the best deal. We will post the price in the store a few weeks prior to the event and notify everyone on Facebook. Look in the “In The Great Outdoors” section for more details.
  • It is the time of year when we will see more festivals and picnics. Look at our “What is coming up in our area” section for some fun times and delicious food. We are selling meal and raffle tickets in the store for most of these events.

In the Pasture

  • It is time to start thinking about the fall brush spraying season. This will be the time of year to spray Huisache and Rosehedge. If you need to spray for Blackbrush, it may need to be sooner rather than later. Here are a few options and pricing:
    • Huisache = $49.45/Acre (1 Quart of Grazon Next/1 Quart Tordon) includes application
    • Huisache = $34.34/Acre (1.5 Quarts of Grazon Next) includes application
    • Rosehedge = $58.91/Acre (3.3 oz Chaparral/1 Quart Tordon) includes application
    • Blackbrush = $68.07/Acre (28oz Sendero/1 Quart Tordon) includes application
  • It is the time of year to start thinking about fall grazing seeds. We are scheduling shipments of TAM 411 Oats, Nelson Ryegrass, and Gulf Ryegrass. If you have a need for seed, call and get on our list so we can make sure and have some available. We will share pricing when we have it available.
  • Fertilizer prices have gone down in time for the fall planting season.
  • Some customers have asked about Field Termites. These insects will eat the stems and roots of grass in your fields. The best way to tell if you have them is to look for structures and tunnels made of mud above the ground. They are hard to treat, and most applications will be a contact kill. We sell Taurus $61.90/20oz Bottle and Bifen I/T $38.95/Quart in the store that you can mix in a garden sprayer. If you are looking for a larger area application, consider Lamda CY $0.54/oz (3 oz/Acre). You will need to make multiple applications of these chemicals.

In the Animal Pen

  • This month we will highlight Purina 14% Creep Pellets. This consistent and targeted feed is designed to help grow and develop your cattle. This month, we will discount the feed by $1.50/Bag. We carry it in a ¼” and 3/8” pellet. Stop in and stock up!
  • We have a new Cattle Show Feed from Purina. Purina Honor Show Chow – Long Game $12.95/50LB Bag is formulated to be versatile, economical, and highly palatable. The moderate protein level is designed to stretch the feeding pattern for a long show season. Give this feed a try!

In the Great Outdoors

  • We will have our annual pallet of corn sale on Saturday, August 31, 2024. We will post the price in the store a few weeks prior to the event and notify everyone on Facebook. We will not allow partial pallets or pick up at a later date. We will only load those customers who are in the door by 12:00 PM. We will not offer any POD’s or orders on hold for that day. You will need to show up and pick up the corn on this day. There will be 40 bags/pallet. We will have a good amount of corn made for that day, but it will be first come, first serve while it lasts. Maximum of 3 pallets per customer.

What an interesting year this has turned out to be! I am not sure that anyone would have expected our summer to be as fruitful and green as it is. Please be vigilant with army worms and other pests that can wreak havoc on our abundant times. If you have questions, please give us a call.
