In Our Store
- The last few years have continued to bring us a late winter surprise of cold weather. In preparation for the next time, we have new inventory of Freeze Misers and Brooder Lamps in the store. Now may be a good time to stock up on these items for next year!
- This is the month of LOVE. On Friday 2-13-26 and Saturday 2-14-26, we will have cookies and candy in the store to help celebrate this joyous event. If you need to do last-minute shopping for your loved one, check out our Greeting Card Rack $2.99/Each at the end of the sales counter.
- Reminder to everyone about all the upcoming stock shows. Yorktown February 13-14, 2026, Cuero March 2-7, 2026, and Victoria Livestock Show February 13, 2026- March 2, 2026. Make sure to go out and support all the hard-working youth.
- The Central DeWitt Wildlife Management Association will have their photo contest display available in the store for the next few weeks. Please vote to help them decide their winners.
- We have a Fish Day with Henneke Fish Hatchery of Hallettsville on Friday, March 6, 2026, from 10:30 AM-12:00 PM. We have the order forms available at the store if you are interested.
- Reminder that we have bulk Garden Seeds available in the store. Bonnie Plants should be sending a new delivery of growing plants soon.
- We have Red and White Seed Potatoes available in the store for$.70/LB.
In the Yard
- At the end of February consider applying 15-5-10 yard fertilizer $19.70/40LB Bag to give your yard an early green up. Make this application 2-3 weeks prior to your spring fertilizer for the best results.
- If you still have some weeds coming up in your yard, it is a suitable time to use the chemicals below.
- Fertilome Weed Free Zone = $47.90/Quart
- Bonide Weed Beater Ultra = $24.55/Pint
- 2-4-D Concentrate = $18.10/Quart
In the Pasture
At the risk of sounding like a broken record, I am going to briefly mention some items from last month again. This last spell of freezing weather put many of us in a great position to still make some of these applications of herbicides and prepare for the spring.
- If you have Wolf Weeds, shred them down. Look at spraying them with Grazon Next or Grazon P+D depending on the location and density of the plants.
- If you have THISTLES, now is the time to spray them. The best chemical to use is 2-4-D at the rate of 1QT/Acre if you have an applicator license. If you do not have a license, consider using Duracor at 16oz/Acre. Make sure and put out plenty of water to make sure they get soaked.
- If you consistently have grass burrs apply Rezilon Preemergent apply at the rate of 3oz of Rezilon with 15 gallons of water per acre.
- Now is the time to start making your gopher bait applications. We have two baits available 45LB Blue Bucket $222.80/Each, and 50LB Kaput Bag $132.30/Each. If you need the application machine, we have them for sale at $1,915.00/Each.

In the Animal Pen
- This month, we will continue to discount our Purina Precon B-30 by $1.50/50LB Bag.
- We have a new shipment of Purina Loose Mineral coming in the next few weeks. In preparation for this, we are discounting all our Wind & Rain Minerals and Gulf Coast Minerals by $5.00/Bag.
In the Great Outdoors
- This month, we will continue to discount our Purina Precon B-30 by $1.50/50LB Bag.

What is Coming up in our Area?
-February 13-14, 2026 – Yorktown FFA Stock Show – Yorktown Bus Barn = Judging will begin on Friday, February 13, 2026, and the sale will be on Saturday, February 14, 2026. For more information, please call the Yorktown FFA Office.
-February 15, 2026 – Reporting Planting dates for Small Grains Reporting for Barley, Rye, Wheat for USDA Farm Service Agency. The reporting is due on this date to avoid penalties. For more information, contact Stephanie Riley 361-275-5751 EXT 2.
-February 20, 2026 – Cuero Chamber of Commerce, Designer Purse Bingo – Anne Friar Thomas Homemaking Building = Doors open at 5:30 PM, Games start at 7:00 PM. No tickets will be sold at the door, please get them in advance. Each ticket provides food, drinks, and adult beverages. For more information, call 361-275-2112.
-February 21, 2026 – 5:00 PM – Central DeWitt Wildlife Management Association Banquet – Cuero VFW Hall = Annual awards banquet to recognize the deer harvested last season. For more information or if you plan to attend, please RSVP to [email protected] so they can get an estimated number of attendees for the meal.
-March 6, 2026 – Henneke Fish Farm Fish Day = Cuero, TX. Orders will be delivered to the store between 10:30 AM and 12:00 PM. Final orders need to be placed by 12:00 PM on Thursday, March 5, 2026. To place your order or for more information, please call the store 361-275-3441.
-March 7, 2026 – 5:00 PM – Cuero Livestock Show Auction – Friar AG Center (Cuero, TX) = Evening begins with a social provided by Cuero Young Farmers.
-March 15, 2026 – Lindenau Rifle Club Annual Chicken BBQ = Lindenau, TX = 11am – 1 pm. Presale Tickets Only $15.00/Each. Includes 1/2 BBQ Chicken, German Potatoes, Stuffed Cabbage, Pinto Beans. DRIVE THRU TO GO PLATES ONLY. Tickets can be purchased at Security Storage at 115 E. S. Railroad Street from 8:00 AM-3:00 Noon, at the DeWitt County Co-op, and at Anders Auto, or from any Lindeneau Rifle Club Member.
