This summer is really throwing everyone for a loop considering our abundance of rain. We have a lot to be thankful for. Along with all the blessings, comes some challenges. Below are some products that you can use to help with all the things going on around us.

If you are looking for more information on current Screwworm cases and best practices, consider looking at www.screwworm.gov . In brief summary the recommendation is to change your calving season to the colder months, create a good working relationship between you and your veterinarian, put in place a good fly mitigation program, look for hazards that could create open wounds on your cattle, have treatment products on hand, and monitor your cattle every 2-3 days for open wounds or infections.

In the Yard
Our yards look good, but the summer heat is soon to show its ugly head. Here are a few products to prepare you.

In the Pasture
- Mealybugs are the new hot topic for many producers. These pests are invading improved grass fields and are either setting them back or destroying once lush grass. While no certain chemical has been approved for use in range and pasture applications in Texas. There are a few products that will help combat them. The current product that we are carrying is Advise Four. The recommended usage rate is 6-10oz. As a reminder, this is a recommendation ONLY as it is not labeled for range and pasture applications. I am sure an approved product will come soon to provide some relief to landowners and hay producers.
- We have a new shipment of Stock Tanks to allow you to be ready for the dryer months. If you are looking for a galvanized, poly, or concrete trough stop in and get one.

In the Animal Pen
Feed sales have slowed down since there is an abundance of grass. We still want to have a feed deal for you. Here are some for the month.

- Purina Equine Senior = This consistent feed provides the right nutrition for all horses, not just the aged ones. We will discount each bag by $4.00/Bag.
- Impact 12% Textured Horse Feed = This consistent feed is great for any working horse. We will discount each bag by $4.00/Bag.
- Wind & Rain Mineral W Fly = To help minimize the flies, we are putting this supplement on special. We will discount each bag by $2.00/Bag.
In the Great Outdoors
- We have a new shipment of deer feeders and deer blinds coming soon. If you need one keep an eye out for our next shipment.
