In the Yard

  • This is a suitable time to make another application of a pre-emergent herbicide on our yards. This will help with the late flush of flowers, dove weeds, and grass burrs that typically appear. The products we have are Barricade ($31.40/50LB Bag) use 3#/1000 SQ FT, Dimension ($35.20/35LB Bag) use 3.5#/1000 SQ FT to combat broadleaf and grassy weeds, and Balan ($45.90/40LB Bag) use 1.5#/ 1000 SQ FT to combat grassy weeds.
  • The bugs have really started to move around the yard. If you find yourself wanting to spray them, give these products a try.
    • Bifen 32oz Concentrate = $33.05/Each = Mix in a yard sprayer or pump up sprayer.
    • Sevin 32oz Concentrate = $22.30/Each = Mix in a yard sprayer of pump up sprayer.
    • Cyonara RTU 32oz = $19.75/Each = Hook on to the end of the hose and go.

    • Spectracide Triazicide RTU 32oz = $14.70/Each = Hook on the end of the hose and go.

In the Pasture

  • Weeds are continuing to grow. I mentioned last month that we need to look at higher rates of chemicals to make sure we give them the punch. If you have questions about what to use or the rates, please give us a call.
  • If you made the early season application of Rezilon for grass burr control, now is the time to make that second application. The best situation is after a hay cutting or when the grass is grazed short. The rate of application again is (3oz/Acre).
  • We are fixing to be in the best window for spraying Mesquite Plants by foliar application. Please make sure that the plants have no new growth, a dark green color, and with an elongated bean of 7”-10”. The bean should also be ribbed and filled out. If you need help determining if you are in the right window to spray, please give us a call. If you would also like us to make the application for you, please give us a call and get on our list. Here are a few options available to get these stubborn plants.
    • Diesel and Remedy (Basal Treatment) = 4 OZ of Remedy, 124 OZ Diesel (Make sure to spray all the way around the base and up 6”-12” from the ground)
    • Sendero and Remedy (Foliar Spray) = 28 OZ of Sendero, 8 OZ Remedy + 1 Quart Surfactant (Make sure to spray the entire plants leaves and make sure they are wet prior to runoff)
    • Invora (Foliar Spray) = 36 OZ of Invora + 1 Quart Surfactant (Make sure to spray the entire plants leaves and make sure they are wet prior to runoff)
  • We consistently get asked about Red Ants in the pasture. If you have an issue with them, give these products a shot. It is best to apply this product after rain.
    • Extinguish 4.5# Jug = $73.25 Each = Granular Bait designed to be taken down into the mound.

In the Animal Pen

  • The abundance of rain has many customers slacking off on their feeding program to utilize the abundant grass. While you may not be feeding as much, the need persists for a consistent mineral program. To encourage that we are discounting all our loose minerals for the month of June by $5.00/Bag.
    • Wind & Rain Hi Mag Mineral – Supports the reduction in potential for death losses from grass tetany.
    • Wind & Rain Red Mineral – The tried and true standard mineral to keep out year round.
    • Wind & Rain Fly Control Mineral (with Altosid) – Designed to help stop the life cycle of horn flies.

In the Great Outdoors

  • Summertime can typically seem like a slow time for the outdoors, but it is a suitable time for preparation for the fall ahead. For those who are avid hunters, stay tuned for the months ahead. We will have specials on deer blinds, deer feeders and fall food plot mixes. Until then, if you need feeder parts or feed for your animals, come and see us.I mentioned over the last few months spring food plot seeds. I figured since we have received some rain it would be good to list them here.
