March 2026 Newsletter

In Our Store

  • February was a challenging month for our organization primarily since we are a feed store and did not have feed consistently throughout the month. Repeatedly customers would come in we would not have the feed they were looking for or the quantity they were looking for. I wanted to take a minute to explain the challenges over the last month. The cold weather created a high demand for cubes/feed at a higher capacity than the local plants could handle. On top of that there were shortages of ingredients to make the feed, mainly cottonseed meal. This resulted in our trucks being shorted feed and Purina sending feed from other plants. Feed rations using cottonseed meal were substituted with other ingredients. Our feed mill was also affected by the shortage of ingredients in the last few weeks. Regardless of the situation, we appreciate everyone’s patience and understanding through this challenging time. We look forward to meeting your animal feed needs in the future.
  • On Thursday, March 26, 2026, Emily our Purina LPS will hold an event “Maximizing Cattle Conception Rates”. Speakers Dr. Ty Davis from Purina and Christi Keeler with Livestock Risk Protection will be on hand to speak about those best strategies for the upcoming breeding year. Please reach out to Emily at 361-243-6126 or RSVP at the store.
  • Purina Chick Days will be held in the store from Thursday, March 19, 2026, through Saturday, March 21, 2026. During these days stop in to take advantage of sales on the most popular chicken feeds along with discounts on Chickens, Chicken Supplies, and even Chicken Feed.
  • We still have some Garden Seeds, Vegetable Plants, and Seed Potatoes in the store for purchase. If you still have the itch to plant a garden, please stop by.
  • Our cube feed prices have changed since we came off a contract at the end of February. In March we will go on a new contract with Purina for our cubes and other more popular feeds.
  • The DeWitt County Soil & Water Conservation District will hold their annual CEU Event this month on Tuesday, March 24, 2026. It will be held at the DeWitt County Veterans Center in Yorktown TX.
