In Our Store
- For years we have continued to grow this business from our interaction with you, our customers. This growth has created a greater need for someone to get out and address property improvements, property goals, herd health and feeding programs. This has developed into a partnership with Purina to hire a “Livestock Production Specialist” or Outside Salesperson. Emily Iselt comes to us with a background in product sourcing and sales and is eager to help you with your property needs. She will be reaching out to our customers to see how she can be of service. - This month we will hold our annual Purina Flocktober Days October 24th-26th. During these days we will have special sales and giveaways on the popular chicken feeds we carry including Purina Layena Pellets, Purina Layena Crumbles, and Purina Scratch Grains. In addition to specials on these days, we will have a sale all month long on Purina Layena Pellets ($2.00/Bag Off), Purina Layena Crumbles ($2.00/Bag Off), and Purina Scratch Grains ($2.00/Bag Off).
- We will start a new Fall Feed Contract with Purina this month. To clear out some old contract inventory, we are going to offer Purina 20% Cubes for $10.50/Bag until we use up this contract.
- This month we will continue to discount the Ultrabac 8 Blackleg (50 Dose) = $26.40 ($4.00/Bottle Off Current Price). This will be an opportunity to stock up on a few more bottles before the end of the year.
- To clean out other inventory we are highlighting some additional items on sale this month.

In the Yard
One thing for sure is that the drier month of September has brought out the ants. If you are looking for a few products to help with the Red Ants and Fire Ants, consider these products. It is best NOT to put them out before a rain.

In the Pasture
- We are still spraying for Huisache and other Fall Plants. If you are interested in us making and application for you, please let us know.
- We spoke a few months ago about getting soil samples complete. If your fields are looking poor or are not producing like they have in the past, consider getting a soil sample to us. It is the appropriate time of year to apply Ag Lime, Phosphorus and Potash. Please get with us if you need help getting samples or have further questions.
- Fall Cover Crops that we still have available are:
- TAM 411 Oats $25.92/50LB Bag
- Nelson Ryegrass $46.36/50LB Bag
- Gulf Ryegrass $38.45/50LB Bag
- Purple Top Turnips $1.54/LB.
In the Animal Pen
- This month, we will continue to discount some of our loose minerals by $5.00/Bag. The minerals included are Wind & Rain Gold (IGR), and Purina Gulf Coast Mineral.
- Each year we normally hold a sale on Accuration Hi Fat Tubs. We are starting a little early this year to provide some options for the declining forage quality. Starting this month, we will have the tubs on sale for $95.00/Each for the month. That is a $10.00/Tub discount.
- Now is a suitable time to consider a liquid feed program. We have a few options available to meet your needs. Give us a call with questions you may have.
In the Great Outdoors
- On Saturday, November 2, 2024, we will have our annual opening day of deer season event. This will include giveaways of T-shirts, caps, hunting gear, and even donuts for breakfast. Make sure to put this date on your calendar.

- November 2, 2024 –7:30 AM – 12:00 PM – Opening Day of Rifle Season Event = DeWitt County Producers = We will have donuts, door prizes, and giveaways. Stop in the store and share your hunting stories.
- November 11, 2024 – WE WILL BE CLOSED FOR VETERANS DAY
- November 11, 2024- Veteran’s Day Ceremony = DeWitt County Veterans Center – 901 E. Hwy 72 Yorktown TX = Ceremony will start at 11:00 AM with a speaker and ceremony celebrating all those who have served.

Our fall is shaping up to be very active. Remodeling of our feed mill has started, and we are making significant improvements to change our interaction with you and other customers. I will highlight these improvements and changes in next month’s newsletter.
