- This is a good time to remind everyone about renewing your hunting license. Stop in the store to get it updated and ready for the season ahead.
- On Friday, October 23, 2026, we will have a Fish Day here at the store. Henneke Fish Farm from Hallettsville will be here to help you restock your tanks and ponds. Please see details in the store or ask the girls at the front for order forms.

In the Yard
Not much is happening in our yards. Keep an eye out for pests that can invade this time of year and consider spraying to keep them under control.
In the Pasture
- The window for a fall brush spraying opens in the next few weeks if the plants are healthy. If you are looking for some good recipes for control, consider these:
- Huisache = (1 Quart of Grazon Next/1 Quart Tordon) in 20 Gallon Mixture (Include 1 Quart Surfactant)
- Huisache = (1.5 Quarts of Grazon Next) in 20 Gallon Mixture (Include 1 Quart Surfactant)
- Rosehedge = (3.3 oz Chaparral/1 Quart Tordon) in 20 Gallon Mixture (Include 1 Quart Surfactant)
- Blackbrush = (28oz Sendero/1 Quart Tordon) in 20 Gallon Mixture (Include 1 Quart Surfactant)
- It is the time of year to start thinking about fall grazing seeds. In speaking with our suppliers, there is no shortage of seeds currently. Once we receive some beneficial rains and customers start looking at winter forage needs that could change. Please take that into consideration when calling to book seed with us.

In the Animal Pen
This month we will have a few products to help our cattle and horse customers.
- Strongid C 2X is a product that most horse customers do not know about. This daily medicated supplement is designed to help break the life cycle of parasites in horses of all ages. This is a useful product to add to your daily feeding program. We have a few bags available at a discounted price of $265.00/50LB Bag (Normally $300.45/50LB Bag)
- Purina Equine Senior Active is a staple horse feed in our store. If you have an aged horse, but need them to have a little more, give this feed a shot. We are discounting this feed by $5.00/50LB Bag for the month. Stop in and stock up!
- The quality of forage available for our cattle is not ideal from the lack of rain. If you are looking to keep them healthy and in good condition, consider keeping Wind & Rain (Red) Loose Mineral out for them. This month we will discount each bag by $4.00/50LB Bag.
- We have a new supply of show supplements in the store to help get your show season off to a good start. To make room for one more, we are discounting Purina Hi Octane Power Fuel Extreme by $6.00/Bag. This Hi Fat Nugget is designed for Cattle, Goats, Lambs, and Pigs. It is an excellent source for Omega 3 and 6 Fatty Acids to improve health and condition of your show animals.
- Purina 225# Mineral and 200# Hi Fat Tubs have been on backorder due to the consistency and hardness of the tubs. Hopefully, these issues will be worked out soon and things will be back to normal.
In the Great Outdoors
- We have a new supply of T-Box Deer Blinds in stock. This year we are only going to carry the 4×6 blinds for $2,190.00. We have stands available with a ladder for $715.00 and (4x6x5FT Tall).
- We are holding the same special from previous years on deer feeders for the month of September ONLY. Buy any All-Seasons Corn Feeder and get enough corn to fill it one time for FREE! Limit 2 feeders per customer. This is only valid at DeWitt County Producers. This only applies to getting the corn at the time of feeder purchase. There will be no vouchers or rainchecks to get the corn later. No other discounts or specials can be included. We are waiting for a new supply to come in. Look for flyers and feeders at the store for updated pricing.
- We have some fall food plot blends available for purchase this season.

-September 13, 2026 – Holy Cross Catholic Church Festival = Yorktown Community Hall = A meal of Famous Homemade Polish Sausage and BBQ Shoulder Clod with trimmings for $15.00 will start at 10:30 AM and will be followed by a live auction starting at 1:00 PM. -September 20, 2026 -11:00 AM -1:00 PM – Lindenau Rifle Club & Hall Annual Sausage Dinner = Lindenau, TX = PRESALE PLATES TO GO ONLY for $15.00 each. Sausage, German Potatoes, Stuffed Cabbage, and Pinto Beans will be served. Fresh Sausage by the Pound can be pre-ordered, while supply lasts, by calling Curtis Koenig at 361-564-8148. Drive Thru To Go Plates will be served at the eating stand and Fresh Sausage will be picked up at the dance hall from 11 am – 1 pm. Tickets can be purchased at Security Storage, 115 E. S. -September 27, 2026 – Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church Festival = 11220 FM 237 – Meyersville, TX = Event includes a BBQ Meal, Raffle, Live Auction, and a Country Store. Manager’s Words
It is hard to believe that two-thirds of the year is complete, but things are brown and crispy outside so we are feeling September. We are optimistic about the remainder of the year and look forward to finishing the year strong. We are out looking at places and giving good recommendations.
